Meet Our Veterinary Team in Monticello, IL
Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Animal Hospital of Monticello. We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets.
Kay Lindsay, DVM
Kay started this business in 1979 and has enjoyed watching it grow as well as meeting our many clients over the years.
She really enjoys surgery. In fact, that has become her primary duty here. She has a special interest in German Shorthaired Pointers, and she owns one, along with a chocolate lab and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys running, tennis, and CrossFit.
Barbara Petersen, DVM
Barb joined Kay in 1985. She enjoys working with our clients and their pets and is our primary practitioner.
She has always loved golden retrievers, currently owning one; Molly. She and her husband also have 2 cats. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, and activities with her 2 adult daughters when they’re around.
Gordon Petersen, DVM
Gordon is Barb’s husband and joined us around 1995 after several years on staff at the U of I Veterinary Hospital. He enjoys traveling the globe with Barb and also spending as much time with their family as possible.
Bailey Rudisill, CVT
Bailey has been with us since 2010. She does it all as Technician and Practice Manager to make things run smoothly around the practice. She has two rescued cats named Buzz and Stumpy; she recently acquired a Havana Brown named Woodford. Her dogs are Birdie, a Great Dane, and Trigger, a Collie/German Shepherd mix.
In January 2020, she welcomed her first human baby, Charlie, who is a talkative curly-haired red head. Bailey enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid CrossFitter. In the fall, she enjoys deer hunting at their family farm in Brown County.
Eva is one of the first employees of the Animal Hospital, being here since 1986. She came here after graduating from the Veterinary Technology program at Parkland College and Black Hawk East. During her many years here, she has done nearly everything at the Animal Hospital. Currently, she is our surgical and anesthesia technician, a job she really enjoys.
At home, she has a horse, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 barn cats. She loves spending time with her husband and two boys camping, hiking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Andrea Hobbs, CVT
Andrea has been with us since 1994. She handles the majority of our dental cleanings, along with her technician responsibilities. Her current household consists of 2 dogs and 4 cats.
In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, walking her dogs, and a little bit of gardening. She has 2 kids that keep her busy with their various sports and activities.
Kelly Myers, CVT
Kelly came on staff in 2002. Along with her technician responsibilities, she holds a special interest in shelter medicine. She is our adoption coordinator, along with helping the local shelter PCAS with their strays.
She is also our go-to for rats and other exotics. Kelly’s menagerie of animals includes 1 dog, 5 cats, and 2 senior citizen chickens. She likes walking with her dog Elsie and spending time with her twin girls when they’re home.
Jordan Fuelberth, CVT
Jordan is our newest recruit as of May 2022 when she graduated from Parkland College’s Veterinary Technician Program. She began as a student here for her internship in the summer of 2021. During that time she fell in love with and adopted a kitten she named Millie.
Some of Jordan’s favorite parts of the job are rodents, ophthalmology, and anything under the microscope. In her free time she loves going back to her hometown of Pekin to see her family. She also loves to cook and enjoys finding new recipes she can try out on her husband Augie. They are newly weds as of July 2022.
Customer Service Representative
Carol’s career here started in 1994. Her duties frequently change as she is always willing to do whatever we ask, but her primary objective is customer service related.
She is our “crazy cat lady” here and has become our geriatric cat expert. This is because she has many cats of her own, 6 happy rescues to be exact. All of her cats and dogs keep her plenty busy at home. She enjoys jogging with 1 of her dogs and dining out with her husband, Steve.

Jodi came on staff in February of 2021. She married her husband in 2001, and they moved to Monticello in 2006 from Beaufort, SC. In her free time, she enjoys camping and kayaking with her family. She has two kids. Her son is an Eagle Scout and just graduated high school.
Her daughter is involved with band and sports and will graduate in 2026. When she’s not at work, you can find her cuddled up on the couch with her two blue heelers, Scout and Peppa.

Cora joined in April 2021. After pursuing Theatre Directing in New York, she found her way back to Illinois to teach piano and dance. Once she accepted a position here at Animal Hospital of Monticello, she quickly realized this is her true passion.
When she’s not working, you can find her snuggling her 4 fur babies, cherishing time with family, and expressing creativity in any way possible. She constantly tells us that she feels so blessed to work at a wonderful clinic with such compassionate teammates.
Cori joined us in August 2020. She moved to the area from Colorado in 2019. After working here for a year, we finally convinced her to adopt a cat, Moe. She now has three cats; she has added Stitch and Crowley since realizing her love for felines. She also has a German Shepherd mix named Shadow and a snake named Maui.
When she’s not at the Animal Hospital or her second job, she’s walking Shadow or spending time with friends. As of October 2021, she is an ABC-certified dog trainer and is excited about the opportunity to implement this new knowledge.
Lainey joined the team at the end of 2021. She moved to Monticello during the summer of 2015 from Fisher, IL, and has loved being here ever since. She has a full house consisting of her husband, her 8yr old daughter, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. She has a special interest in dogs and obedience training but loves learning about all animals.
When she’s not here taking care of our boarders and patients, you can find her out hiking with her family at Allerton, training her youngest dog, or just at home playing video games.
